Howdy,
Many people believe you need to update to Lion before you are able to update your iPad to iOS 5......... Not true.....
You have to update iTunes to the latest version and then plug your iPad into your computer and update to iOS 5......
When you are complete you do not need to plug your iPad into your computer again... Everything is now stored on iCloud......
iOS 5 is free......
If you are able to update to Lion and iOS 5 and you use the same Apple ID with both Lion and your iPad they will stay synchronized through iCloud......
