According a report on The Daily, an iPad only newspaper Microsoft is working on a version of Office for the iPad. http://www.ugnn.com/2011/12/ms-office-for-apple-ipad/ ---------------------------------------------- 05 Basic Terminal Commands This is an old article on a blog, but one I hadn't seen and even those of us who started on Apple DOS or PCDOS and have some idea what Terminal commands should look like will find this useful. However even those of us who stated that way can be intimidated by being in the Terminal application for Mac OS X. NewSourceMedia blog has an article on the basic terminal commands to get you started. http://www.ugnn.com/2011/12/basic-terminal-commands/ ---------------------------------------------- 06 Keep an eye on your computer The Logger is a computer monitoring tool that records what your employee, roommate or child does on you computer. This useful software utility records every key pressed in your Mac and takes a snapshot of the screen with every mouse click detected. You can even receive an email every time a keystroke session is started. The Logger creates full HTML reports for every session where you can see all keys pressed and snapshots taken. http://www.ugnn.com/2011/12/logger/ ---------------------------------------------- 07 Sparky, The Christmas Elf for iOS Sparky, The Christmas Elf has just arrived for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Sparky, The Christmas Elf is a simple, yet addictive game suitable for players of all ages. http://www.ugnn.com/2011/12/sparky/ ---------------------------------------------- 08 Free stuff from iPresentee We've mentioned iPresentee before, as a unique adjunct software for iWeb and Keynote. Now, iPresentee is re-launching its set of free stuff, including some pretty fine clip art for the holidays . . . http://www.ugnn.com/2011/12/ipresentee/ ---------------------------------------------- 09 Paperless 2.0 Last winter Mariner Software announced Paperless 2.0 for the Macintosh. They followed up with a Windows version in September. http://www.ugnn.com/2011/11/paperless-2-0/ ---------------------------------------------- 10 Old Mac makes Self-Tweeting Cat Bed With the eSleeper, we've truly reached the pinnacle of human civilization. While gutting old electronics for conversion into pet beds isn't a new phenomenon (remember the old iMac fishbowls?), the advent of Twitter alongside inexpensive do-it-yourself Arduino boards means that all gadgets turned pet sleepers must now inform the world when such pets enter and/or exit each domicile. http://ow.ly/7NWvD ---------------------------------------------- 11 The Empire Strikes Back It has been a long time since anyone considered Xerox an innovation powerhouse. On the contrary, Xerox typically serves as a cautionary tale of opportunity lost: many obituaries of Steve Jobs described how a fateful visit by Jobs to the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center in 1979 inspired many of the breakthroughs that Apple built into its Macintosh computer. http://ow.ly/7NWAZ ---------------------------------------------- 12 Millions of printers open to hack attack Could a hacker from half-way around the planet control your printer and give it instructions so frantic that it could eventually catch fire? Or use a hijacked printer as a copy machine for criminals, making it easy to commit identity theft or even take control of entire networks that would otherwise be secure? http://ow.ly/7NWE5 ---------------------------------------------- 13 Quotes: Addison, Lauren "Cheerfulness is the best promoter of health and is as friendly to the mind as to the body." - Joseph Addison "A leader has the vision and conviction that a dream can be achieved. He inspires the power and energy to get it done." - Ralph Lauren ----------------------------------------------------- 17 ... and have a great week!
